Late Dr. Lajpatrai Mehra Ji—popularly known as Guruji and also as Babaji—was a researcher from Suryamal, Maharashtra. He pioneered LMNT (Lajpatrai Mehra Neurotherapy), commonly known simply as Neurotherapy. Drawing upon the principles of Naadi Mardan Kriya from Ayurveda along with concepts from modern medicine, he developed this therapy to help relieve pain and various disorders without the use of medicines. स्वर्गीय डॉ. लाजपतराय मेहरा जी—जिन्हें लोकप्रिय रूप से गुरुजी तथा बाबाजी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है—सूर्यमाल, महाराष्ट्र के एक शोधकर्ता थे। उन्होंने LMNT (लाजपतराय मेहरा न्यूरोथेरेपी), जिसे सामान्यतः न्यूरोथेरेपी भी कहा जाता है, की शुरुआत की। आयुर्वेद की नाड़ी मर्दन क्रिया के सिद्धांतों तथा आधुनिक चिकित्सा की अवधारणाओं के आधार पर उन्होंने इस पद्धति को विकसित किया, जिसके माध्यम से बिना किसी दवा के दर्द और विभिन्न विकारों से राहत दिलाने का प्रयास किया जाता है।
His interest in Naadi Mardan Kriya deepened following certain incidents within his family. Thereafter, he devoted himself to researching and discovering methods to help the body heal from within, based on the fundamental belief that the body and mind possess the innate power to heal themselves without the use of medicines. परिवार में हुई कुछ घटनाओं के बाद उनकी रुचि नाड़ी मर्दन क्रिया के प्रति और अधिक बढ़ गई। इसके बाद उन्होंने स्वयं शोध कार्य में लगकर ऐसे उपाय खोजने का संकल्प लिया, जिनसे शरीर भीतर से स्वयं को स्वस्थ कर सके। उनका मूल विश्वास था कि शरीर और मन में बिना किसी दवा के स्वयं को ठीक करने की स्वाभाविक शक्ति होती है।
Through his work, he helped many local tribal communities in Suryamal regain their health. In recognition of his efforts and compassion, they respectfully gave him the titles Guruji and Babaji. His work soon attracted attention and appreciation from both local and national media, and gradually people from cities such as Mumbai and Pune began visiting him to seek healing without the use of medicines. अपने कार्य के माध्यम से उन्होंने सूर्यमाल क्षेत्र के अनेक आदिवासी लोगों को स्वास्थ्य लाभ दिलाया। उनकी सेवा और समर्पण से प्रभावित होकर स्थानीय लोगों ने उन्हें सम्मानपूर्वक गुरुजी और बाबाजी की उपाधि दी। उनके कार्य की सराहना स्थानीय तथा राष्ट्रीय मीडिया में भी होने लगी, जिसके बाद मुंबई और पुणे जैसे शहरों से भी लोग बिना दवाइयों के उपचार के लिए उनसे मिलने आने लगे।
